Billionaire Contrarian Investor Sees Economic Crash Coming In China

James S. Chanos built one of the largest fortunes on Wall Street by foreseeing the collapse of Enron and other highflying companies whose stories were too good to be true.
Now Mr. Chanos, a wealthy hedge fund investor, is working to bust the myth of the biggest conglomerate of all: China Inc.
As most of the world bets on China to help lift the global economy out of recession, Mr. Chanos is warning that China’s hyperstimulated economy is headed for a crash, rather than the sustained boom that most economists predict. Its surging real estate sector, buoyed by a flood of speculative capital, looks like “Dubai times 1,000 — or worse,” he frets. He even suspects that Beijing is cooking its books, faking, among other things, its eye-popping growth rates of more than 8 percent.
“Bubbles are best identified by credit excesses, not valuation excesses,” he said in a recent appearance on CNBC. “And there’s no bigger credit excess than in China.” He is planning a speech later this month at the University of Oxford to drive home his point.
As America’s pre-eminent short-seller — he bets big money that companies’ strategies will fail — Mr. Chanos’s narrative runs counter to the prevailing wisdom on China. Most economists and governments expect Chinese growth momentum to continue this year, buoyed by what remains of a $586 billion government stimulus program that began last year, meant to lift exports and consumption among Chinese consumers.
Still, betting against China will not be easy. Because foreigners are restricted from investing in stocks listed inside China, Mr. Chanos has said he is searching for other ways to make his bets, including focusing on construction- and infrastructure-related companies that sell cement, coal, steel and iron ore.
Mr. Chanos, 51, whose hedge fund, Kynikos Associates, based in New York, has $6 billion under management, is hardly the only skeptic on China. But he is certainly the most prominent and vocal.

Federal Air Marshals Rush To Stop Dozens Of Alleged Suicide Attacks

Officials said intelligence reports and interviews with the Nigerian accused of trying to detonate explosives on a flight to Detroit, suggested other young men had been trained by al-Qaeda-linked groups.
President Barack Obama has reportedly ordered almost all the 3,200 existing air marshals, who are armed and work undercover, to be deployed to incoming flights by US airlines by Feb 1. Agents from other law enforcement agencies would be called up to fill the gaps left on domestic flights that are deemed high risk. “The rush is to get our people in place before they get theirs launched,” a senior law enforcement official told ABC News. US government sources however said that no specific imminent threat had been detected.
The president was last night due to detail further security measures and provide more information on mistakes by US security agencies that allowed Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab to board Northwest Airlines Flight 253 on Christmas Day with explosives sewn into his underwear.
Gen James Jones, the national security adviser, told USA Today that Americans would feel a “certain shock” when they read the preliminary investigation into missed clues that could have prevented the botched attack.
Noting the bid to destroy the airliner carrying 289 people, and the shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas in November by a Muslim army psychiatrist, Gen Jones said: “That’s two strikes.” He added that the president “certainly doesn’t want that third strike, and neither does anybody else”.
Homeland Security officials said they had flagged Abdulmutallab as someone who should go through additional security screening upon landing. In a statement, the department said the alleged bomber’s potential ties to extremists came up in a routine check of passengers en route to the US from overseas.
The Los Angeles Times reported that border agents were even ready to question Abdulmutallab upon his arrival after discovering his name on a database.
Border officials routinely screen passengers against terrorist watch lists before international flights leave for the US, then check names against a different database while the flight is in the air. It was during this second check that officials caught information that Abdulmutallab’s father had provided to the US embassy in Nigeria a month earlier, warning that his son had drifted into extremism in the al-Qaeda hotbed of Yemen.
Mr Obama instantly ordered government reviews into the attack on a Northwest flight 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit, on the existing terrorist watch list system and on airline security and screening.
Earlier this week, in a highly unusual public rebuke of the US spy community, Mr Obama said errors by intelligence agencies before the attack were “not acceptable”.
Speculation has risen that Michael Leiter, director of the National Counter Terrorism Centre, would be forced out after it emerged that he stayed on a skiing holiday for several days after the attack.
Though Mr Obama has not singled out any part of the bureaucracy in public, it is understood that most of his frustration was directed at the NCTC. It was created after the September 11 attacks specifically to “join the dots” provided by different intelligence agencies.

The Flight 253 Airplane “Bomb Plot”: Obama Continues The Cover-Up

The statement made by President Barack Obama Thursday about the Christmas Day attempted bombing of a Northwest Airlines flight over Detroit is a continuation of a government-wide cover-up, aided and abetted by the media, of the actions of US intelligence and security agencies in the period leading up to the failed terrorist attack.
Obama repeated the meaningless phrase that has become the mantra of such cover-ups since the attacks of September 11, 2001 – “failure to connect the dots” – and gave explicit assurances that no officer of any intelligence agency will suffer any consequences for what is arguably the greatest security failure since 9/11.
The president’s remarks continue the pattern established since the young Nigerian, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, tried and failed to ignite a plastic explosive sown into his underwear as Northwest Flight 253 was in its final descent towards Detroit.
In the two weeks since the incident, there has been no coherent or credible explanation of how it was possible for Abdulmutallab to board the US-bound plane despite the mass of information available to US security agencies, including the visit by his father to the US embassy in Nigeria more than a month before the flight.
Obama admitted that US intelligence agencies had sufficient information to identify Abdulmutallab as a likely threat and place him on the no-fly list. He reiterated that there was not a failure to collect information, but rather a failure to connect disparate pieces, with the result that “a known terrorist” was allowed to board the plane in Amsterdam.
This was followed by the declaration that “no one individual and no single agency was at fault,” a claim that amounts to a blanket assertion of immunity for all those involved. It is also deliberately deceptive, since it suggests that inter-agency coordination was the problem in preventing action from being taken.
The executive summary of the administration review of the incident, released in a declassified form at the time of Obama’s statement, contradicts this implication, however. The summary reveals that both the CIA and the National Counter-Terrorism Center, separately and independently of each other, had all the information necessary to identify Abdulmutallab.

Now Mobile Devices Will Be ‘Scanning’ Your Naked Body On Streets?!

Naked body scanners are being readied to go mobile and scan you on the street, at football games and any other event where masses of people are congregated, according to a leaked paper written by Dutch authorities.
As we have been warning all along, the tyranny now being metered out at airports was always intended to be rolled out onto the streets, with mobile metal detectors already being stationed at various transport hubs in the UK in the name of stopping knife crime.
Now Dutch police have announced that they are developing a mobile scanner that will “see through people’s clothing and look for concealed weapons”.
According to a confidential document, “The scanner could first be used as an alternative to random body searches in high risk areas. The mobile detector would enable the search to be carried out more quickly and would only be used on people suspected of carrying concealed weapons,” reports Dutch News.nl.
The device would also be used from a distance on groups of people “and mass scans on crowds at events such as football matches.”
“The biggest challenge is making it portable and ensuring it can carry out a scan in seconds,” Giampiero Gerini, a professor at Eindhoven University, told the paper.
The aim is to develop and deploy the device within three years. With police in major American and British cities already carrying out random searches of innocent people under routinely abused terrorism laws, mobile scanners are likely to be added to their arsenal, especially if people have been trained to accept their use as routine in airports.
Three years ago, leaked documents out of the Home Office revealed that authorities in the UK were working on proposals to fit lamp posts with CCTV cameras that would X-ray scan passers-by and “undress them” in order to “trap terror suspects”.
“The questions are when is this a useful addition to security and when does it become unduly intrusive and worrying to the public?” said Professor Paul Wilkinson, a terrorism expert.
Since everything that we see being installed at the airports is now gradually being introduced on the streets, how long will it be before mind-reading devices that scan individuals for behavioral psychology, now being discussed for use in airports, are stationed on every major street corner?
The technologies now being prepared not just for the airport, but for our everyday lives, are far more frightening and technologically advanced than anything George Orwell wrote about in 1984. Unless we stand up in unison and say enough is enough, our world will become a literal hi-tech prison grid characterized by a caste system of slaves and controllers.

The Drudge Report: “Big Sis(ter) Wants To See Under Your Clothes!”

Drudge hit the nail right on the head. It headlined a Reuters story as follows: “Big Sis Wants to See Under Your Clothes.” The website put up a montage of Janet Napolitano, boss of the Department of Homeland Security, staring at the now infamous Bild photographic recreation of a young woman rendered naked by a full body scanner.
Obama and crew are determined to install these expensive and dangerous machines in airports across the nation. Napolitano said “she will travel to Spain this month to meet with her international counterparts to seek tougher international aviation security measures,” i.e., she will peddle full naked scanners to “international counterparts.”
Obama’s “two-pronged approach Obama outlined Thursday will have little effect on domestic airline passengers and will involve many behind-the-scenes changes aimed at keeping suspected terrorists off U.S.-bound international flights,” including naked body scanning machines, according to USA Today.
“The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) bought 150 scanners in September for $25 million, but none has been installed. The machines create vivid images of passengers underneath their clothing. They would improve the detection of weapons such as the explosive powder a Nigerian passenger got through a metal detector in Amsterdam and allegedly tried to use to detonate on Dec. 25 in an airliner over Detroit, Napolitano said at a briefing after Obama addressed the nation.”
In fact, according to scientists, full naked body scanners will not detect chemicals and liquids of the sort supposedly used by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.
Last week it was reported that these intrusive machines are being promoted by former DHS boss Michael Chertoff.
“Mr. Chertoff should not be allowed to abuse the trust the public has placed in him as a former public servant to privately gain from the sale of full-body scanners under the pretense that the scanners would have detected this particular type of explosive,’’ said Kate Hanni, founder of FlyersRights.org, which opposes the use of the scanners.
Talk about a communication breakdown. It should be obvious by now that the federal government is a revolving door of corruption where former officials “retire” to work for defense contractors and other corporations that do business at taxpayer expense. Mr. Chertoff is merely doing what is expected of him.

Children Are At Most Risk From Pedophiles In Government Capacities

With the Bureau of Justice Statistics now reporting that children are at most risk from pedophiles when in government custody, it’s no surprise that TSA “Gods” are licking their lips at the prospect of ogling your naked daughter’s body at airport screening checkpoints.
“Some 12 percent of minors held in government custody are sexually abused, and in some facilities the rate reaches a stunning one in three children, says a report released Thursday by the Bureau of Justice Statistics,” reports Raw Story.
“The first-ever National Survey of Youth in Custody found that no less than 10 percent of the 26,550 juveniles being held in detention facilities in the US are abused by staff at the facility, while another 2.6 percent report abuse at the hands of other inmates.”
Of course, the fact that pedophiles seek out government jobs as an avenue of imposing their perversion on others makes perfect sense. Government jobs allow such monsters to express their control freak tendencies and abuse the innocent with virtual impunity.
All the more alarmed we should be therefore that TSA thugs will be given carte blanche to enjoy naked images of our sons and daughters following the installation of virtual strip-search body scanners that Obama promised would be rolled out at all major U.S. airports last night.
As we have highlighted, claims that the body scanners did not provide details of genitalia were disproven after a London Guardian journalist who was present at a trial for the machines earlier this week reported that the devices produce an image which make “genitals eerily visible.”
German Security advisor Hans-Detlef Dau, a representative for a company that sells the scanners, admits that the machines, “show intimate piercings, catheters and the form of breasts and penises”.
Indeed, as was admitted when the scanners were first being rolled out over a year ago, they don’t function properly if areas of the body are blurred out.
A report from October 2008, when the naked body scanners were first being introduced at Melbourne Airport in Australia, detailed how the X-ray backscatter devices don’t work properly unless the genitals of people going through them are visible.
“It will show the private parts of people, but what we’ve decided is that we’re not going to blur those out, because it severely limits the detection capabilities,” said Office of Transport Security manager Cheryl Johnson.
“It is possible to see genitals and breasts while they’re going through the machine,” she admitted.
We were also given an insight into how the TSA agents responsible for bossing these systems will act after an incident at LAX which was reported on by NBC Chicago yesterday.
“A TSA agent was arrested on January 3rd in Terminal One at LAX, a source told NBCLA. He had just gotten off duty and was behaving erratically, saying, “I am god, I’m in charge,” states the article.
Another TSA agent at LAX was fired after a videotape emerged of an after-hours party during which the agent had taken drugs.
With innumerable reports over the past ten years of TSA agents completely abusing their authority and going on petty power trips with little other motivation than to humiliate and degrade old people, pregnant women, and even prominent war correspondents, while proclaiming themselves to be “Gods,” government reassurances that TSA thugs will treat pictures of our naked bodies with the utmost professionalism are somewhat difficult to believe.

Here In The Long And Solemn Dark – Examination Of “Global Elitism”

Inherent in every human being lurk the qualities that make us capable of indelible and enduring good, or astounding and catastrophic evil. Many of us struggle with these natural inborn psychological dualities every day of our lives. With the help of conscience; the ever present voice of the unconscious which guides us towards balance, many of us survive the internal battle without inflicting too much damage on the innocent bystanders around us.
I used to believe that all people endured this same struggle equally, that everyone wanted to eventually achieve that ever elusive self awareness that cuts through the fog of life and makes us feel whole. I believed that all men who committed terrible crimes and injustices against others did so out of ignorance and blindness. Surely, they had lost their way, and did not fully understand the implications of their actions. This did not make them any less responsible, but could they not be redeemed? Had they not let their own shadows run wild in the daylight without knowing the consequences? Weren’t all of us, even the worst of us, deep down still striving to do what was right?
In this belief I must now admit, if I am to remain true to my conscience, I was terribly mistaken…
What I did not comprehend when I was younger was that not all men struggle against the dark corners of their own hearts. Some men revel in them. Some men embrace their failings, their hatred and their envy, their vicious desire for control over their environment and those in it, and they do it deliberately, completely aware of the imbalance and pain they are inflicting on others. Where I see weakness of character, they see untapped strength; the strength of cold and unrestrained malevolence. They were not “victims” of their own ignorance. These men had traversed the River Styx and glimpsed the mythological gates of hell, the psychological barrier between saints and madmen. They stood at the edge of reason and truth, looked out into the nightmarish abyss at the back of their own psyches, and liked what they saw!
If there was ever anything closer to the definition of “evil,” I have not heard of it.
This methodology, this philosophy of embracing one’s darker nature, is ever present in an organized group of people we have come to label “Global Elites.” They have existed in various forms for centuries but their goals have always been the same. In this article, we will examine some of the early influences that gave birth to the elitist philosophy, as well as some possible explanations as to why they do what they do.

On January 6, 2010, Obama proudly unveiled his “Innovative Agenda”. Financed by Public- Private Partnerships, the goal is to train over 100,000 elementary school math and science teachers. The Intel Foundation has committed to spending $200 million dollars to this venture, with 4 other companies providing another $50 million dollars.(1)
The mainstream media’s spin on this story was that this is a gift to increase American children’s test scores. And most people believe this is a wonderful investment in the future and don’t understand the real intention behind the “gift”, with strings attached.

After doing a little research on Intel’s website and its affiliation with the EPA and the United Nations, the implications are clear: Intel is preoccupied with the global warming hoax and intends to institute Agenda 21 Sustainable Development by indoctrinating children through education.
Lori Wigle, Intel’s Eco- Technology General Manager and “Green Queen” went to the Copenhagen convention and wrote in her blog that technology could provide a structure for people to telecommute from home so that “ultimately we may need fewer roads”.(2) Remember that the collectivists’ agenda is to concentrate people in cities and remove them from the land. If there are no roads, the land becomes ‘off-limits’.
Further, Intel’s Corporate Responsibility Director, Michael Jacobson, glorifies the alliance between Intel and the United Nations in his blog regarding the United Nations Global Compact.(4)
The United Nations Global Compact is based on the Rio Declaration of Environment and Development from 1992, and IS Agenda 21 Sustainable Development. Soft language is used, but the underlying message is that an international governing body should regulate all things concerning human interaction with the environment.(5) The man made global warming hoax is one of the biggest weapons of propaganda and legal action that the collectivists use.
Lastly, education is a tool that the globalists use to promote their programs, and is clearly documented in their own materials. For example, California’s Assembly Bill 32 (Cap & Trade), the final report states, “ARB will also rely on partners throughout the state to develop and display options for curricula that will enhance the K-12, community college, trade technical training programs, and programs at four-year colleges.” (page 102)(6)
The Good News: Being forewarned is being forearmed. You can teach your children about “Climategate” and get other parents involved. You can educate the educators and become more involved in what your child learns.
