UGA Broadcast, Video and Digital Imaging has created a recent documentary that highlights how University of Georgia researchers are now responding to the obviously devastating oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. 

Black and Blue: Beneath the Gulf Oil Disaster, follows Professor of Marine Sciences Samantha Joye and her team aboard the research vessel Walton Smith in the Gulf. 

Several additional faculty members are involved in the response to the “spill” complemented by a team from various universities. A complete directory of resources for the media is available here. Joye and other faculty members hold weekly media briefings on Tuesday’s at 11 a.m.

Samantha Joye, a Professor of Marine Sciences at the UGA Franklin College of Arts and Sciences is one of the first scientists with her team of researchers and scientists from multiple universities to discover deepwater plumes emanating from the Deepwater Horizon oil rig disaster.
